Odumodublvck

Born on October 19, 1993, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, also known as Odumodublvck, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and composer.[3] He is well-known for his genre-bending theatrical acts and for frequently playing Okpu Agu.[4] Odumodublvck is a part of Anti World Gangstars, a hip-hop ensemble. He lives in Abuja, Nigeria, at the moment.

He inked a record contract with NATIVE Records in 2022, working with Def Jam.[5] On November 23, 2022, he released “Picanto,” his debut single under the NATIVE, starring Ecko Miles and Zlatan. It peaked at number 65 and marked his maiden chart entry on the Nigeria Top 100 at number 79[6].[7] He was placed #4 on TurnTable’s NXT Emerging Top Artistes list as of January 23, 2023.[8] Def Jam Recordings and Odumodublvck inked an exclusive contract in 2023 following the success of the EZIOKWU mixtape.[9]

Early life

At the age of seven, he moved to Abuja with his family after being born in Lagos. In the second year of his junior high studies at Christ the King College in Gwagwalada, Abuja, he was given the stage name “Odumodu” [10].[11][10] He completed his first year of tertiary education at Bowen University before leaving to complete his studies at the University of Lagos, Akoka.[12][10]

Career

Odumodublvck and B.O.C Madaki collaborated on a studio album in 2022 called The Drop[13]. A few months later, the artist released a follow-up song called “Picanto” with Ecko Miles and Zlatan. The song made its debut on TurnTable Bubbling Under Top 100 on November 21, 2022, at position 8, and it peaked at number 15 on the Nigeria Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.[14] “Picanto” made its debut on November 28, 2022, peaking at number 79 on the Top 100 and 44 on Nigeria Radio. It also peaked at number 6 on the Nigeria Hip-Hop/Rap Songs chart.[14] Odumodublvck, DRB LasGidi, and Victony played at the Jameson Connects concert in Abuja on March 26, 2022.[16] He was the winner of the Galaxy Music Awards’ Next Rated Artist category on December 8, 2022.[17] The new Lexus IS 350 belongs to the rapper.

Shortly after escaping a surgery that nearly claimed his life, he released his debut song, “Declan Rice,” on Friday 24 in March 2023 [19]. Odumodublvck made his debut in the top 10 on TurnTable’s official Nigeria Top 100 Songs chart on March 27, 2023, at position 8.[20] “Declan Rice” is the top-ranked song on TheCable Lifestyle airplay list as of April 1, 2023.[21] Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham United, expressed his joy when Nigerians sang his name thanks to Odumodublavk. Declan Rice’s song was played in the background as Arsenal announced the acquisition of Rice on July 15, 2023.[22][23] On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Odumodublvck posted a picture of himself on Instagram showing off his chic posture with the three well-earned awards. Other posts showed the artist rejoicing in this incredible.

Blood On The Dance Floor and Cast took home the top spot in the TurnTable Top 100 songs in the TurnTable Charts rankings, demonstrating the indisputable influence of Odumodublvck on the music industry. At the same time, Eziokwu (Uncut) topped the TurnTable Official Top 50 Albums Chart in Nigeria for the album category.[24] His hit song “100 Million,” which featured Tiwa Savage, was well-received by his followers and lovers.[25]

Edit: Political consciousness Odumodu tweeted on May 25, 2023, regarding Bola Tinubu’s inauguration as Nigeria’s 16th president and the Renewed Hope concert. He wrote, “They Tried To Get Me To Perform At The Inauguration,” in the quote. They Didn’t Conduct Enough Research.”[26] Odumodu, however, announced his support for Peter Obi in the second verse of the NATIVE Sound System track “Vex” on March 2, 2023, saying, “I dey hope on Peter Obi to save me”[27]. Artistry

Odumodublvck is renowned for blending grime, drill, and afrobeat music. According to Dazed, “His unrelenting style of drill employs high-life inspired melodies which he calls OKPOROKO RHYTHMS , In slangs “Afro terrorism” and Nigerian Pidgin English to tell vivid stories about his community and everyday experiences – his narrative style is so specific to Nigerians, it’s hard to pick up on the nuances as an outsider.”[28]
